In 1990, I traded a set of speakers for a Texas area 1979 280 ZX and became its third owner. I spent two years completely rebuilding the car and will probably spend the rest of my life repairing, upkeeping and re-restoring it. After seriously catching "Z" fever, I went to San Diego in 1998 and picked up a 1970 240 Z to restore. This page is not really dedicated to my Z or ZX, however, it is here to inform all the other Z-Heads out there about fixes and modifications that I have come across in my "Life's Journey." Some of the things contained in these pages cannot be done without risk and so I take no responsibility for damage to property or person caused by any ideas or information contained herein. I expect some of these to tips to end up at the Z Home Page (actually, some already exist) and there are plenty of ideas at other peoples pages (Z Links). At the bottom of this page are a couple pictures of my babies. The pictures of the 280 ZX are about 4-5 years old while those of the 240 Z are recent. Most of the 240 Z pictures are of me stripping and rust proofing her. I learned some hard lessons about rust proofing with my 280 ZX. Unfortunately, she has started to rust having been driven as a daily driver in the nastiness of Ohio weather and I will probably end up getting a rust free one someday into which I can swap all the "new" parts...
I am currently a moderator for the IZCC e-mail list. For most of you who contact me with questions concerning a Z, I try to answer your questions. I then usually tell you to join the IZCC e-mail list. There are over 5000 subscribers world-wide and people who have vastly different experiences - from the beginning shade tree mechanic to the professional racer. It is also a very good way to find parts or complete cars - people on the list will go out of their way to help you locate parts or complete cars. So join up! It is free and you can always just "lurk." Please also check out my Z Links. I have tried to index them properly and give a description as to what is on the other side of the link. So if you are looking for a parts supplier, go there first. I have also recently become an editor for SportZ Magazine. So far I have contributed only one article which was based on the fuel tank repair section of my WWW site. It was published in their very first addition.
